Our Physicians

Dr. Alexandra Bojcevski

Dr. Bojcevski earned her medical degree from the Schulich School of Medicine at Western University in 2007. She completed her Internal Medicine certification in 2011 and her Cardiology certification in 2014 through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Bojcevski serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) at McMaster University, contributing to the education and mentorship of future physicians.

Dr. Adnan K. Hameed

Dr. Adnan Hameed is a Canadian-trained cardiologist practicing in the Niagara region, providing compassionate and comprehensive care for patients with heart and vascular conditions. He completed his medical training and cardiology fellowship in Canada and cares for patients across hospital, clinic, and diagnostic settings. His clinical interests include heart disease prevention, heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, and coronary artery disease.

Dr. Hameed is also actively involved in improving cardiac care in the Niagara community through leadership, quality improvement, and medical education. He works closely with nurses, allied health professionals, and primary care physicians to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care, with a focus on clear communication and shared decision-making.

Dr. Marian Kotrec

Dr. Kotrec graduated from medical school in his native Slovakia, where he completed training in Internal Medicine before pursuing advanced research and clinical fellowship training at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He later undertook full Canadian postgraduate training, completing an Internal Medicine residency at Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Cardiology residency at the University of Manitoba. He further refined his expertise with subspecialty fellowship training in Nuclear Cardiology at the University of Manitoba and achieved board certification in Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Kotrec is a cardiologist at Niagara Health and an Adjunct Associate Professor at McMaster University. He is a co-founder of Cardiology Associates of Niagara, providing comprehensive cardiac care and noninvasive cardiac testing. As a noninvasive cardiologist, his clinical interests focus on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered cardiac care through advanced imaging, evidence-based risk assessment, and preventive cardiology. He is an active member of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and American Society of Echocardiography. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two teenage sons, as well as travel, reading, sports, and music.

Dr. Jasmine K. Lamba

Dr. Lamba graduated from Queen's University in 2012 and completed her Internal Medicine certification in 2016, followed by Cardiology certification in 2018 through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

She also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) at McMaster University and is committed to combining clinical excellence with medical education and mentorship.

Dr. Nigel Tan

Dr. Nigel Tan is a cardiac electrophysiologist whose clinical practice focuses on the comprehensive management of arrhythmias, including catheter ablation, cardiac implantable electronic device therapy, and percutaneous left atrial appendage closure. He is a member of the Division of Cardiology at Niagara Health and Hamilton Health Sciences. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at McMaster University and serves as Program Director for the cardiac electrophysiology and pacing fellowship.

Dr. Tan obtained his medical degree from the University of Toronto, where he also completed postgraduate training in internal medicine and adult cardiology, followed by a 2-year fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at St. Michael’s Hospital. His academic interests are closely aligned with his clinical work and include atrial fibrillation management and device-based therapies for prevention of stroke and congestive heart failure. Dr. Tan is actively involved in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives related to arrhythmia care and contributes to medical education through the teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Dr. Anhar Alhussaini

Dr. Alhussaini is an echocardiographer and cardiac intensive care physician with advanced training from McMaster University and the University of Toronto. Her clinical expertise spans complex cardiac imaging and the management of critically ill cardiac patients.

She is dedicated to blending academic medicine with community-based care, ensuring that patients benefit from evidence-based practice delivered in an accessible and patient-focused environment.

Dr. Jeffrey Henderson

Dr. Henderson received his medical education from the University of Limerick School of Medicine in 2017. He completed his Internal Medicine certification in 2021 and his Cardiology certification in 2023 through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

He brings a strong foundation of contemporary training and a thoughtful, patient-centred approach to cardiovascular care.

Who We Are

The Cardiology Associates of Niagara, established in 2016, represents the largest group of hospital-affiliated, Royal College-certified cardiologists in the region.

We offer a wide variety of non-invasive diagnostic testing and have rapid access to coronary angiography, cardiac surgery, advanced therapies for rhythm abnormalities and a multidisciplinary heart function clinic. We collaborate with centres in Hamilton, London and Toronto when tertiary or university-based care is required.

We are affiliated with McMaster University, providing education to medical students and residents at all levels, and we remain actively engaged in local research initiatives and international trials.
